Job Search Techniques Insight

Four half-day workshops

Clients learn the basic elements required to conduct an independent job search - for example: cold calling techniques, understanding the Hidden Job Market, organizing a job search, reading job ads, completing application forms, and using the Internet to job search.

Session is 4 half-days in length.

Job Retention Skills

• Nov 24 - 25
• Dec 17 - 18

Clients learn strategies to assist them in retaining employment – topics may include anger management; planning for the unforeseen such as child care needs, transportation crises, and appointments; new job demands, budgeting, clothing requirements, and job site modifications.

Session is 2 half-days in length.

Job Interview Skills

Three half-day workshops

• Nov 18 - 20
• Dec 15 - 17

Clients review and practice common interview questions and answers based on their employment target. "Star Stories" are developed and there is both self and peer evaluation of the interviews.

There is opportunity for video-taping of the interview role-play.

Session is 3 half-days in length.

Disclosure

One half-day workshop

• Nov 5

Clients have an opportunity to discuss the "when", "how" and "if" of disclosing information related to a disability or limitation to employers and/or colleagues.

Session is 1 half-day in length.

True Colours

One half-day workshop

• To be determined

Clients learn about their colour code which helps identify clearer job targets, influences their attitudes, skills and interaction with others in the workplace.

Session is 1 half-day in length.
