The Employment and Retention Specialist at Champions Career Centre is an important contact for employers who are interested in hiring people with disAbilities. The role of the Employer Recruiter is to promote and inform businesses on the many advantages of hiring persons with disAbilities.

Career Developers are connected to Champions clients who are ready, willing, and able to begin paid employment immediately! Career Developers know our clients and can attest to their preparedness and readiness for work.

The Employment and Retention Specialists are active in the job placement and job retention process by developing relationships with prospective employers and matching Champions clients to positions that both meet the employment goals of the job seeker and satisfy the human resource needs of the employer. The Employer Recruiter works in conjunction with Employment Retention Specialist to acquire job leads.

  • Pre-screening of applicants
  • Post-placement support
  • Workplace transition assistance
  • Workplace retention supports
  • Worksite accessibility assessments
  • DisAbility awareness and sensitivity information (Workplace Inclusion Sessions)
  • Assistance in accessing funding for worksite modification and assistive devices (DisAbility Related Employment Supports "DRES")
