Eligibility

To access Champions Career Centre services, individuals must:

- have an identifiable disability or permanent injury;

You do not have to provide formal documentation regarding your disability in order to access Champions' services. However, documentation may be required for eligibility to specific supports such as Disability Related Employment Supports ("DRES") .

- be Ready, Willing and Able to work or commence training;

Individuals must have sufficient physical and mental health:

  • To participate in the assessment process and to receive employment-related support to enable them to obtain and retain employment.
  • To participate in full-time employment (minimum 30 hours per week), part-time employment (minimum 15 hours per week), or full-time/reduced-course-load education, or full-time skill training designed to assist in gaining full or part-time employment.

- be unemployed, underemployed, or employed but in danger of losing their job;

- not have an active claim with the Workers’ Compensation Board; and,

- be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident of Canada or refugee legally entitled to work.
